About
My current research centers mostly around Karl Barth and Emmanuel Levinas. I'm working on a thought experiment which considers the content of Levinas' first philosophy of ethics in Barth's framework of theological ethics. Although my research interest extend far beyond systematic theology and modern philosophy, most of my research attempts a theological ethics towards encounter.
I'm also interested in a few French, Catholic theologians such as Jean-Luc Marion and Louis Marie Chauvet. Most recently, I've been examining how Chauvet both uses and critiques Heidegger's work in his sacramental theology particularly in light of Heidegger's later interest with language and poetry.
And finally, Donald Mackinnon. I cannot say enough about how much I equally love and hate all the questions his work brings up for me personally. However, he's highly complementary to Barth and a very under appreciated theologian. The possibility for moral interrogation in response to Mackinnon's work on Christology and the doctrine of the Incarnation as well as the doctrine of the Trinity could prove to be an important provocateur for contemporary theological issues.
